The Information Systems Engineering and Management program at Harrisburg University is a 12 course, 36 credit hour flexible and interdisciplinary comprehensive program that emphasizes the technical, engineering and management business aspects of creating and deploying smart digital enterprises. ISEM is SEVP compliant for International students.

About The Programme

Harrisburg University ISEM graduate studies are built on the following three (3) pillars, which are inter-related perspectives of successful system design and deployment:

Information Systems Technologies: development of skills and competencies in new and emerging technologies and their applications, including predictive and generative Artificial intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, Big Data, on-premise and Cloud Computing, Blockchains, Business Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0.
Systems Design: development of the ability to think broadly and holistically and gain a range of perspectives and skills, focusing on systems thinking and emphasis on development of integrated systems rather than individual components. This includes development of enterprise architectures that optimize the use of people, processes and technologies.
Management and Management Science: development of the aptitude to focus on business strategies, entrepreneurship, planning, security and governance for global and agile enterprises.

ISEM 500 Strategic Planning for Digital Transformation (3 Credits)
ISEM 530 Systems Engineering Principles (3 Credits)
ISEM 540 Enterprise Architecture and Integration (3 Credits)
MGMT 510 Business Strategy and Management Principles (3 Credits)

Note: The ISEM program also offers the ISEM 501 - Introduction To Digital Technologies, which is designed for the student that does not have a CS or IT background. This course is also a prerequisite for many other non-ISEM and ISEM MS and Ph.D. courses.

Complete two of the following courses - 6 Credits

ISEM 502 User-Centered Design (3 Credits)
ISEM 503 Artificial Intelligence Principles and Applications (3 Credits)
ISEM 534 Database Designand Management (3 Credits)
ISEM 536 IT Infrastructure and Cloud Computing (3 Credits)
ISEM 547 IT Management (3 Credits)
ISEM 551 Web-based Software Engineering (3 Credits)
ISEM 565 Business Intelligence and Decision Support Systems (3 Credits)
ISEM 570 Principles of ITIL for IT Quality (3 Credits)
ISEM 574 Bitcoin Blockchain (3 Credits)
MGMT 511 Digital and Global Enterprises (3 Credits)

Complete the following experiential courses - 6 Credits

GRAD 695 Research Methodology and Writing (3 Credits)
GRAD 699 Graduate Thesis (3 Credits)
or
ISEM 699 Applied Project in Information Systems Engineering and Management (3 Credits)

Complete the Individualized Concentration - 12 Credits

Note: The Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering and Management student can choose electives totaling up to 12 credits from any graduate-level program. This option allows the Information Systems Engineering and Management student to build their own customized specialization and concentration.
